Baghdad, The head of the State Forces Alliance, Ammar Al-Hakim, stressed the importance of the provincial councils to ensure the fair distribution of wealth and the division of opportunities and projects for everyone, calling for the provinces to restore their powers in accordance with the principle of decentralization as a constitutional fact.
Al-Hakim pointed out, during his meeting with the Governor of Karbala and the head and members of the local government on Tuesday, the importance of local governments as they are the best to manage their affairs.
He added, “Holy Karbala is a destination for tourists in Iraq and the region, and the specificity of Karbala must be taken into account when preparing budgets,” stressing the importance of internal harmony to support the local government as a prelude to providing services.
Al-Hakim stressed, ‘Karbala needs low-cost roads and housing projects, stressing the need to support it with electricity, taking into account the size of the visitors who come to it, alon
g with the importance of Karbala International Airport and the opportunities it provides, because Karbala is an attractive environment for investment,’ appreciating the role of the shrine’s management in construction and reconstruction.
Al-Hakim urged to preserve the sanctity of Karbala, warning against what he described as agendas that seek to undermine the sanctity of the city by marketing some behaviors as the general condition, in addition to the importance of combating drugs and distinguishing between traffickers and drug users.
Al-Hakim touched on the importance of the Karbala metro project and the train project between Karbala and Najaf, calling for thinking about strategic projects with the importance of sustaining intelligence work to maintain the achieved security.
