Al-Dabaiba discusses with Norland local and international efforts aimed at holding elections.


Tripoli: The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, met today, Wednesday, with the US envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, the US Embassy’s Charge d’Affairs, Jeremy Brent, and the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for North African Affairs, Josh Harris.

During the meeting, which took place in the presence of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Jumaa, and the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, the two sides discussed ways to unify efforts to support the initiative of the UN envoy Abdullah Batili, and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people to end the transitional stages and go to elections, in addition to supporting the Finance Committee in its tasks.

The two parties discussed, according to our government’s platform, support for local and international efforts aimed at holding elections according to fair laws and ending the transitional stages, in addition to supporting the efforts of the UN envoy to address the political
impasse and bring the country to elections, as it is the demand of all Libyans
