A security committee in the Kurdistan Region discusses preparations for parliamentary elections


A security committee in the Kurdistan Region discussed, in a meeting held today, preparations for parliamentary elections in the region.

In a speech during the meeting, Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw called on “all security agencies and forces to be prepared, with all preparations to carry out the tasks of the voting day that will take place on the twentieth of October of this year.”

Khoshnaw also called on all parties participating in the elections to “adhere to the decisions and directives of the commission regarding electoral propaganda, so that the elections are held successfully, expressing the bright face of democracy in Kurdistan.”

He expressed his “thanks and appreciation to all security forces and other government institutions for their cooperation and coordination to protect the security and stability of the city, establish the rule of law, and eliminate uncivilized phenomena, perhaps the most prominent of which is the campaign to eliminate women, children, and men begging in the streets.”

w stressed “not allowing violations and encroachment on public property, and ensuring the safety and health of citizens and protecting the environment of Erbil, especially after the deterrent penalties against violators from individuals, companies, factories, refineries, and owners of generators and vehicles who did not take into account the protection of the environment of Erbil.”
