A MoU For Political Consultations Signed Between Iraq And Turkmenistan

Baghdad: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Muhammad Hussein Muhammad Bahr al-Ulum, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, in the building of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, they discussed developing cooperation in the political, diplomatic, commercial and economic fields, exchanging views on common positions on the regional and international arenas, and emphasizing the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation and coordinate positions in all regional and international organizations.

The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the outcomes of the Iraqi delegation’s visit to Turkmenistan and the meetings it held with Turkmen officials.

The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan was invited to visit Iraq to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was preceded by a signing ceremony for a memorandum of unders
tanding for political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq, which aims to organize bilateral tracks for joint political work between the two countries on issues of bilateral and international relations.
