A combing operation to secure the tourist route between Diyala and Baghdad

A joint security force carried out a combing operation in the agricultural areas south of Baquba, the center of Diyala Governorate.

A security source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: “A joint security force carried out an operation, from two axes, to comb the agricultural areas in Bazayez Bahrz, south of Baquba, with the aim of securing the tourist road between Diyala and Baghdad.”

He added, “The combing operation aims to achieve three goals, including preventing ISIS terrorist cells from gaining a foothold in agricultural areas, especially abandoned ones, and securing supply routes for the military units located in the depth of Baziz Buhriz.”

He pointed out: “The operation comes within the strategy of enhancing deployment capabilities in order to prevent any security threat to the agricultural villages.”

In a related context, the formations of the Popular Mobilization Forces completed the final stages of securing the banks of the Diyala River within the axes of the Hamrin Basin, starting from Khanaqin to the rest of the Kasbahs, northeast of Baquba.
