Baghdad -Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari met in Doha with Qatari Interior Minister Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Monday morning.
During the meeting, according to a statement from the minister’s office, cooperation was discussed in security areas of common interest and in the common interest of the security of the two countries and the region.
During the meeting, a bilateral minute was signed between the two sides in which it was agreed to continue and expand joint work mechanisms, including an emphasis on the continuation of security cooperation and coordination between the two countries based on the terms of the memorandum of understanding previously signed between them, as well as cooperation in the field of training and all fields related to the work of the Ministry of Interior, and support the technical competencies of the security agencies and units of the two parties, academic cooperation between police colleges, and international cooperation to keep pace with the new challenges of cross-border crime and any form of work proposed between the two parties and agreed upon through the international cooperation contact points in the two countries.
Al-Shammari visited the General Department of Narcotics Control in the Qatari Ministry of Interior, followed by a visit to the Joint Operations Center, and he was briefed on the mechanism of work, as well as the techniques used in the State of Qatar./End
