50-truck aid convoy heads to North Gaza

Amman: A new 50-truck humanitarian aid convoy headed to northern Gaza Saturday, dispatched by the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP) and with donations from various organizations and institutions.

The convoy carried food parcels, tents, blankets, clothes, and health packages, to be distributed through partner associations and organizations in the Gaza Strip, according to a JHCO statement.

“Jordan will continue providing the people in the Gaza Strip with humanitarian aid, which we deem a national duty,” JHCO Secretary General Hussein Shibli pledged, adding that the entry of aid “is our first and foremost priority, given the current situation.”

Shibli said a total of 2,474 trucks have made it to the Gaza Strip so far, in addition to 53 aircraft via Al-Arish Airport.
