/21/ people died due to severe heat wave in Morocco


The Ministry of Health in Morocco stated that 21 deaths were recorded, most of them people suffering from chronic diseases and the elderly, as a result of high temperatures.

The Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in the Beni Mellal-Khenifra region in Morocco confirmed that the regional hospital center in Beni Mellal “recorded 21 deaths on July 24, including 4 deaths outside the hospital and 17 deaths in hospital, while the majority of deaths were among people suffering from chronic diseases and the elderly, as the high temperature contributed to the deterioration of their health and led to their death.”

The regional directorate explained that following the circulation of news about the recording of sudden deaths due to high temperatures, the relevant services opened an immediate investigation to uncover the real reasons behind this.

All citizens were warned to exercise caution, avoid exposure to sunlight, and consult health authorities when necessary.
