At least 12 people died and 27 others suffered injuries when a passenger bus fell into a gorge in Raigad district of western indian state of Maharashtra, police said on Saturday.
The Press Trust of India said quoting the local police that the private bus was on its way from Pune to Mumbai carrying members of a traditional music troupe when it met with the accident on the old Mumbai-Pune highway early morning today.
According to reports there were around 40 passengers in the bus when the accident took place and all the injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
