VTC, German Ministry launch partnership project for development

The Partnership Approaches for Development-oriented Vocational Training and Labour Migration (PAM) Project was launched on Tuesday in Amman, during a joint workshop attended by representatives of German craft chambers and German vocational training institutes.

The project, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, aims to create training opportunities ending in employment for Jordanian youth, where the trainee undergoes preparatory programs that include teaching the trainee the German language and a set of technical skills that qualify him to work in Germany.

The Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), Ahmad Gharaibeh, in the presence of a g representative of the German Crafts Association, and the project’s regional director, gave a briefing on the training needs of the Jordanian trainee, indicating the stages of training, where the student applying for training undergoes initial level tests that determine the nature of the training that the train
ee will apply for and choose the training field according to the technical and professional tendencies of the trainee, thus opportunity is available for self-creation in any of the specialties that the trainee obtains.

For his part, the German Crafts Association representative explained the mechanism for implementing the project in Jordan, which will be done on two tracks according to the level of the German language and the trainees’ passing the preparatory stage in Jordan to be enrolled in dual vocational training programs in partnership with the private sector, during which the trainee receives some privileges, including a work contract with private sector companies in Germany during the training.

The vocational training in Germany is one of the best training programs globally, qualifying many technicians in several specialized professional fields for the German labor market.
