US judge killed in his office in Kentucky by police chief

American media reported that a judge in Letcher County, Kentucky, was killed by the county police chief inside his office.

They said that Mickey Steins (the police chief) shot Judge Kevin Mullins in his office yesterday evening, Thursday, before surrendering himself.

Local officials explained that “the police chief entered the judge’s office on Thursday, and asked the people gathered in the office to leave them alone, and after some time, gunshots were heard from the office, then Steins came out, raised his hands and surrendered to the police.”

The motive behind the crime is still unclear, and the police continue to investigate.

The slain judge, Kevin Mullins, is known for his efforts to treat drug addicts instead of imprisoning them.
