United States: A violent explosion in a bank in Ohio, injuring 7 people


A video clip published by American media showed a violent explosion that occurred on Tuesday evening in a bank in downtown Youngstown, Ohio, wounding seven people.

WFMJ reported that the first floor of a 13-story building on E. Federal Street, which houses Chase Bank, exploded around 2:45 p.m. (local time). It was noted that the cause of the explosion was gas.

Footage documented by surveillance cameras showed the violent explosion that shattered windows and scattered debris all the way across the street. Then a cloud of thick smoke swept across the city building, and it appeared that the first floor of the building had been completely destroyed.

According to Mercy Health Hospital in Youngtown, seven people were taken to the hospital, including one person in critical condition, while one person is still missing, according to Fire Chief Barry Finley.

The Youngstown Police Department asked people to stay away from the area, and several floors of the building above the bank are residential apartments, which w
ere evacuated by response teams.
