UK allocates £117 million to protect Muslim community

London: The British government announced on Monday that it will allocate £117 million to enhance the protection of mosques, religious schools, and Islamic community centers in the UK over the next four years.

“Hatred against Muslims has no place in our society at all, and we will not allow events in the Middle East to be used as an excuse to justify attacks on British Muslims,” British Home Secretary James Cleverly said in a statement on Monday.

He added, “The Prime Minister has made it clear that we stand with Muslims in the UK, and that is exactly why we are committing to this funding, which will provide reassurance and confidence to British Muslims at a time when it is needed most.”
