UAE Council for Fatwa holds first meeting after restructuring

ABU DHABI: The UAE Council for Fatwa held its second regular meeting for 2024, the first after the federal decree restructuring it under the chairmanship of Abdullah bin Bayyah.

Abdullah bin Bayyah extended his gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his continued support for the Council.

He further thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Their Highnesses the Rulers of the Emirates, for their patronage of the UAE Council for Fatwa since its establishment.

He said that the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan made the UAE an example to be followed in consolidating the values of tolerance and coexistence and spreading peace, progress and prosperity.

Dr. Maria Mohammed Al Hatali, Secretary-General of the UAE Council for Fatwa, reviewed the meeti
ng agenda, which included several projects, most notably the upcoming third scientific conference the Council plans to organise in the coming months.

The Council also assessed the progress of its other projects and addressed numerous inquiries received from relevant authorities in the country requesting fatwas.
