Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party confirms that the Israeli Knesset’s refusal to establish a Palestinian state endangers regional peace

Istanbul, Spokesperson for the Turkish Justice and Development Party / Omar Celik / confirmed that the Israeli Knesset’s vote, today, Thursday, by a majority in favor of a resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state, would expose peace and stability in the region to greater threats.

Celik said in a post on the X platform that the entry of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir into Al-Aqsa Mosque today, accompanied by the police, is a very provocative act that could lead to greater regional conflicts.

He stressed that the Knesset’s decision to refuse to recognize the Palestinian state is an illegal decision and is considered a record of the genocidal policies pursued by the current Israeli administration, explaining that the two steps are dangerous and expose peace and stability in the region to greater threats.

“We are for permanent peace in the Middle East, and the way to achieve this is to establish the State of Palestine with East Al-Quds as its capital, on the basis of ju
st peace. The international community must take an urgent initiative and bear the responsibility for peace,” Celik added, stressing that Turkey, under the leadership of President Erdogan, will continue to fight against the policy of genocide.

Earlier today, Thursday, Israeli Knesset lawmakers voted by a majority in favor of a resolution rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state, considering that “the establishment of a Palestinian state in the heart of the land of Israel will pose an existential threat to the State of Israel and its citizens, and will lead to the continuation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and destabilization of the region.”

Also today, the Israeli occupation army stormed cities and towns in the West Bank, and arrested a number of Palestinians, coinciding with the storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, while the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has continued since October 7.
