Thwarting a major attack before Eid.. Tehran confirms the arrest of 3 terrorists, including a prominent leader


Baghdad, Iranian police announced that they arrested a “prominent member” of ISIS and two of his aides, in the city of Mahdasht in Alborz Governorate, west of the capital, Tehran.

Iranian police spokesman Brigadier General Saeed Muntazar al-Mahdi said: ‘We succeeded in arresting Muhammad Zakir, nicknamed ‘Ramesh,’ a senior member of the terrorist organization ISIS, and two other members of the terrorist elements affiliated with this organization in light of intelligence monitoring operations by an intelligence unit. “Alborz Governorate Police Command, with citizen cooperation, identifies terrorists.”

He added: “Three terrorists were injured by bullets after shooting at their car, and they were arrested.”

He explained: “These people were planning to carry out a suicide attack on Eid al-Fitr.”

He pointed out that: ‘8 people who were complicit with the terrorists were arrested.’

ounced earlier that the security forces were able to thwart an armed attack targeting security headquarters in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan last Wednesday evening, and the operation resulted in the killing and wounding of a number of the perpetrators and security men.
