The Vice President of the UAE receives the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government.FM receives French President’s Special Envoy to Lebanon in Cairo

Dubai: The Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Office of the UAE, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received today, Tuesday, in Dubai, the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba.

The media office of the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government stated that the meeting, which was attended by the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Adel Juma, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan Al Jaber, and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for National Security, Ali Al Shamsi, discussed follow-up aspects of cooperation between the two countries in various economic fields.

He added that the UAE Vice President welcomed the Prime Minister’s participation in the World Government Summit held in the United Arab Emirates and a number of Libyan government institutions, which is considered a step towards increasing cooperation between the two countries

Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry met on Tuesday 13/2/2024 in Cairo with French President’s Special Envoy to Lebanon Jean-Yves Le Drian to exchange views on resolving the crises the fellow Arab state is enduring.

Earlier in February, Egypt participated in the meeting of the Quintet Committee on Lebanon, whose membership includes Egypt, France, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United States of America, and Qatar, with the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The committee aims to solve the issue of the Lebanese presidential election. The Egyptian delegation in the meeting was headed by Ambassador Alaa Moussa, Egypt’s ambassador to Lebanon.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said in the statement that the committee members were keen to provide all possible assistance to bring the positions of the Lebanese political parties closer together, without interference or infringement of the right and responsibility of the Leb
anese Parliament.

Abu Zeid voiced Egypt’s firm support to Lebanon and its keenness to complete the presidential election as soon as possible.

For his part, Mr. Nabih Berri welcomed the unified position of the five countries towards supporting Lebanon, reiterating his commitment to working with the various Lebanese political forces and the international community to quickly complete the presidential election.
