Baghdad – The Palestinian Prisoners’ Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club announced in a statement that Israel has begun a systematic assassination operation against the prisoners.
The statement said: “The martyrdom of prisoner Arafat Yasser Hamdan (25 years old), from the town of Beit Sira, Ramallah district, in (Ofer) prison. The occupation had arrested him on October 22, as part of the recent arrest campaigns in the West Bank.”
He continued: “The Prisoners’ Commission and the Prisoners’ Club confirm once again that the occupation began a systematic assassination against the prisoners, in light of the comprehensive aggression against our people and our prisoners.”
Earlier, the Israeli Prisons Administration announced in a statement the death of a detainee from Megiddo Prison due to a health condition.
The statement said: “Today, a detainee from Megiddo Prison suffered a health problem and was transferred to the prison clinic, which conducted examinations on him.”
It added: “We are talking about an administrative detainee born in 1965 and a resident of the West Bank who was arrested in 2023.”
