The Foreign Minister assures the Romanian Senate of readiness to expand cooperation horizons between the two countries

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fouad Hussein, met today with the Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Romanian Senate, former Romanian Foreign Minister Titus Corlatsian, and his accompanying delegation.

The Ministry stated in a statement that: “During the meeting, the bilateral relations between Iraq and Romania dating back to 1958 were reviewed.”

The Minister stressed the depth of these relations and the importance of continuing political consultations and cooperation between the two countries in various political, economic and commercial fields, as well as the importance of achieving cooperation in the scientific and educational field between the two countries.

For his part, Kurlatsyan conveyed the greetings of Romanian Foreign Minister Lumineska Odobescu to Hussein, expressing his hope that the invitation extended to the Minister to visit Romania would be answered, to discuss many issues of common interest between the two countries.

The Foreign Minister appreciated Romania’s positive stances towards Iraq, expressing readiness to expand the horizons of cooperation between the two countries, discuss memorandums of understanding and agreements between the two sides, and activate the signed ones.
