A child drowned and a young woman committed suicide in Al-Gharraf district, north of Nasiriyah, the center of Dhi Qar Governorate.
A security source said, according to the Nasiriyah News Network: “A 12-year-old girl died, while her 5-year-old sister was injured, as a result of their falling into a river near their home in Al-Gharf district, north of Nasiriyah, pointing out that the girl’s body was transferred to forensic medicine and the injured to the hospital.”
The source added that another accident was recorded in Al-Gharraf district of an 18-year-old girl who committed suicide with a knife by cutting the vein of her left hand inside her house.
He said the girl was rescued by her family and taken to the hospital.
The source indicated that the investigations showed that the girl’s suicide attempt was due to her psychological state./ End
