The Coordination Framework revealed the compass of its directions to run in the upcoming elections, to be held at the end of this year.
The head of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council, Hammam Hamoudi, said, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that “the electoral law does not help the existence of a specific large list, so the coordination framework will enter more than one list in the upcoming elections at the end of this year.”
He added, “The new alliances are within the agenda of the coordination framework, as there will be two important lists, and we will have other lists.”
He explained, “We seek to ensure broad public participation in the upcoming elections, more than focusing on defining the destination of the lists and enumerating them, so that participation is broader and guarantees the restoration of voter confidence in the political process and the current electoral law.”
He continued to say, “The government, the Coordinating Framework, the Coalition of State Administration, as well as the Parliament, are fully open to addressing and resolving outstanding issues, including the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan region.
