Takala discusses with Batili the efforts of the UN mission to hold a meeting of the Libyan parties.


Tripoli: The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, discussed today, Sunday, with the UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batili, in Tripoli, the efforts of the United Nations mission to hold a meeting of the Libyan parties to bring viewpoints closer together.

During the meeting, which was attended by the First Vice President of the Council, Masoud Abeid, and the Council Rapporteur, Belkacem Debrez, the two sides discussed the initiative of the UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, regarding holding a meeting of the Libyan parties to bring viewpoints closer, reject disagreement, support national reconciliation efforts, and pave the way towards a democratic path agreed upon by all. .

During the meeting, Takala stressed the Council’s acceptance of the invitation of the UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, to sit at the table of the national dialogue, which is based on national constants and is consistent with the Constitutional Declaration and with what was agreed upon in previous dialogues of political outcomes and agre
ements sponsored by the United Nations and formed the basis for the stages that followed, according to the Council’s media office.

Takala added that the Council supports the efforts of the UN mission to reach elections as one of the most important national entitlements in accordance with fair and impartial laws that are accepted by the Libyan people.
