Spain defeat England 2-1, win record fourth EURO title

Spain become the European champions for a record-breaking fourth time after clinching a 2-1 victory over England in the UEFA EURO 2024 final in Berlin Sunday.

Nico Williams, player of the match, opened the scoring for La Roja in the 47th minute, powering a crisp, low finish into the far corner from Lamine Yamal’s pass.

Substitute Cole Palmer equalized for the Three Lines in the 73rd minute, moments after entering the fray.

Substitute Mikel Oyarzabal scored in the 86th minute, four minutes from time, to hand Spain a record fourth European Championship crown.

Spain broke a number of records in this championship. Spain are the first team to win EURO on four occasions, having previously shared that record with Germany. Spain are the first team to win all seven games at a EURO final tournament. La Roja’s 15 goals at EURO 2024 is a new tournament record, surpassing the 14 scored by France in 1984.
