Signing a memorandum of understanding to unify strategy in the Joint Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce.

A memorandum of understanding to unify the strategy in the joint Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce was signed yesterday in Tripoli.

The memorandum aims to unify business strategy between the Libyan and Italian sides, enhance trade relations between the private sector in the two countries, contribute to the development of small and medium companies, and facilitate the movement of business owners and ship goods and services through the ports in both countries, in addition to organizing joint economic meetings and seminars under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Trade to exchange information and studies about the local markets.

The Chairman of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce, Anwar Abusta, stressed the Chamber’s role in supporting and enhancing private sector activity and holding periodic meetings with business owners and companies dealing in the two countries with the aim of identifying the difficulties and obstacles facing the movement of commercial and service activities and working to address them in coordination with relevant parties.

Abusta” indicated that a meeting will be held during the coming period in Tripoli, organized by the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce, under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, and with the participation of the Central Bank of Libya, the General Authority of Customs, companies operating in the two countries, and the Commercial Attaché of the Italian Embassy, to discuss the conditions of Libyan companies working on importing from Italy and the problems facing them and businessmen in transporting goods through Italian ports, in addition to organizing the Italian Industries Exhibition in its second edition early next year on the Tripoli International Fair.

The signing was attended by the Chairman of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce on the Italian side, Nicola Colici, the Italian Ambassador to Libya, “Gianluca Alberini,” the Commercial Attaché at the Embassy, Giacomo Grandiso, the Head of the Italian Economic Center, Luigi D’Apria, and members of the Management Committee of the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce on the Libyan side. Radwan Al-Maghrabi, Ramadan Al-Kamjaji, Mahmoud Al-Chaoush, Wahib Al-Walda, the executive director, Hadi Garwash, and the chamber’s advisors, Zakaria Franca and Ahmed Wali.
