Second phase of Women’s Friendly Health Centres Programme launched

The National Center for Women’s Health in Jordan launched Wednesday in Amman the second phase of the Women-Friendly Health Centres Programme supported by USAID. The programme, launched under the patronage of the Centre Chairperson, Princess Aisha bint Al Hussein, aims to provide high-quality healthcare services to women in Jordan through cooperation between the National Centre and supporters from the health sectors based on the achievements of the first phase. The second phase comprises equipping 20 health centres over the next two years in Jordan to be officially recognized by the Health Institutions Accreditation Council as women-friendly centres. The programme would offer several health services, including pre-conception, family planning, pre-natal, post-natal, nutrition and breastfeeding services. Minister of Health Firas Hawari said in a speech that the Ministry and its partners are keen to achieve the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II in bringing health care to the best international standards and improving workflow procedures.
