CAIRO: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), held a meeting with Counselor Dr. Hanafy Ali Gebaly, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Council’s headquarters during his official visit to Cairo at the head of a delegation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation and coordination between the two councils, unify positions, visions and orientations towards various issues of common interest in various regional and international parliamentary forums.
They also discussed exchanging visits and parliamentary events and supporting the governments of the two countries and their keenness to activate cooperation in all fields and benefit from the two countries’ distinguished relations with various countries, institutions and international organisations in working to achieve peace, security and stability in the world.
The two officials stressed that the strong UAE-Egypt relations are proceeding at the highest le
vels of coordination and are based on mutual respect and the pursuit of the interests of the two peoples, further underscoring the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations between the countries and coordinating views on issues of common interest, foremost of which is Arab national security and Arab solidarity.
