Qatar acknowledges Jordan’s impact at 2023 Asian Cup’s technical levelThe Prime Minister of the National Unity Government forms a central committee to follow up on the situation in the municipality of Zliten due to the rise in groundwater levels.

Doha: The Qatari Minister of Sports and Youth Chairman of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Organizing Committee, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, commended Jordan’s football squad for raising the tournament’s technical level.

In an interview with Qatari sports media on Tuesday, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa shared his aspirations for the success of the Jordanian team and other Arab squads partaking in the 2023 Asian Cup, expressing his desire for them to advance to later stages of the competition.

Furthermore, he praised the performance of the Jordanian team in their recent match against South Korea, highlighting the exceptional skills demonstrated by the (Nashama) players and their impressive display from a technical standpoint.

Despite the challenge posed by a strong opponent like South Korea, the team’s management under coach Hussein Ammouta, combined with the high level of the players, allowed them to showcase their distinctive abilities, he added.

Additionally, the Qatari minister emphasized that
the Jordanian team had engaged in friendly matches as part of their preparations for the Asian Cup, which included a notable triumph over the Qatar team in a friendly encounter.

Today, Tuesday, the Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, formed a central committee headed by the Minister of Local Government to follow up on the conditions of the municipality of Zliten due to the rise in groundwater levels, address the repercussions, and help citizens to confront them.

The committee’s membership includes – according to its formation decision – the Director General of the Housing and Utilities Project Implementation Agency, the Chairman of the General Company for Water and Sanitation, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Tripoli Public Services Company, the Director General of the National Center for Disease Control, and the Director General of Environmental Sanitation at the Ministry of Local Government.

Last Saturday, Al-Dabaiba inspected the municipality of Zliten to identify the areas affected by the rise in groundwater levels in a number of stores in the municipality, and listened to the people of the affected areas, and issued his instru
ctions to quickly pay attention to treating this crisis and communicate with consulting offices specialized in this field to study and develop solutions. The root occasion of this problem.

It is noteworthy that the Libyan Emergency and Rapid Response Committee had warned yesterday, Monday, of the consequences of what would happen in the coming days as a result of the increasing swelling and penetration of groundwater underground in the Zliten area, which led to the emergence of a huge rainwater pipe from deep in the ground.
