Pilgrims began flocking to Arafat holy site on Tuesday morning to perform the most significant ritual of hajj.

Pilgrims will then move on to Muzdalifah at sunset, where they will perform Maghrib and Isha prayers, and will stay there until early Wednesday.

Undersecretary of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Affairs Ayed Algwinm said all Saudi government sectors are standing by for ensuring a smooth hajj movement and offering all necessary support and services to pilgrims, the Saudi official news agency (SPA) reported.

He added that the ministry is continuing its field efforts in order to ensure the safety of pilgrims during this year’s season.
