Olympic Games launch will not be affected by sabotage attacks — Paris mayor

The Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo on Friday affirmed that the acts of sabotage that targeted the railways would not undermine the Olympic Games inauguration.

Hidalgo, in a statement to journalists after meeting the visiting Spanish King Felipe VI at the Spanish embassy in the French capital, said the attacks on the railways would not undermine the scheduled inauguration of the Olympic games, due to kick off later today.

The acts of vandalism on the railways, carried out early today, disrupted the scheduled movement of 800,000 commuters and travelers.
