Jerusalem – Together – The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, Chairman of the Supreme Fatwa Council, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, announced this evening, Monday, that tomorrow, Tuesday, is the completion of the blessed month of Ramadan, and therefore the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, will be the first day of Eid Al Fitr.
The Mufti said: ‘In the meeting held by the Palestinian Fatwa House in the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque to follow up on the investigation of the crescent of the month of Shawwal for this year 1445 AH, in the presence of a group of religious scholars and official, popular and legal figures, and based on the estimates of the astronomical brothers inside and outside Palestine of the birth of the crescent of the month of Shawwal and the possibilities of seeing it, it was impossible to see it.’ Sighting the crescent of the month of Shawwal tonight, and therefore tomorrow, Tuesday, the ninth of April, 2024 AD, will be the completion of the month of Ramadan, and the day after tomorrow
, Wednesday, the tenth of April, 2024 AD, will be the day of Eid al-Fitr, so may God accept our obedience and all those who fast.
He added: ‘From the vastness of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the first of the two qiblahs, the second of the two mosques, and the final destination of the Messenger Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, we pray to God Almighty that the next Eid will come when the land of the Night Journey and Mi’raj has been liberated from the oppression and oppression of the occupation, under our wise leadership, led by His Excellency Sovereignty.’ President Mahmoud Abbas, may God protect him. We also ask Him, Glory be to Him, to end the brutal aggression against our people in Gaza and our Palestinian land, and to release our brave prisoners, grant them freedom, accept our righteous martyrs in Aliyin, and grant our wounded a speedy recovery. We pray to the Almighty God to prepare for our nation goodness. Guidance, glory, and empowerment. Indeed, He has power over all things.’
