The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, discussed with the Prime Minister of Italy, Georgia Meloni, during her meeting with him today, ways to strengthen Italy’s relations with the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, stressing the expansion of horizons of joint cooperation in all fields, according to a statement by the Presidency of the region.
Meloni stressed that Italy will continue its support for Iraq and the Kurdistan region, describing her country’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan region and ensuring their security and stability as a subject of interest and focus on the part of Italy.
The meeting dealt with the latest developments in Iraq, dialogue and steps to solve the outstanding problems between Erbil and Baghdad, and the situation in the region.
