Mauritania allocates $30 million for digital infrastructure: Minister

DUBAI: Mohamed Louly. Minister of Digital Transformation, Innovation and Modernization of Administration, Mauritania, announced that his country’s government has allocated $30 million to invest in digital infrastructure. He also announced the launch of five new digital transformation projects in Mauritania to support community services and innovation.

In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the minister said that the World Governments Summit 2024 provides an opportunity for the governments of developing countries to meet with two key stakeholders: technology providers, to understand their applications and future opportunities, and policymakers and decision-makers, to consult on the best visions for sharing them between countries around the world.

The Mauritanian minister added that his country’s delegation benefited from the international forums hosted by the World Governments Summit to exchange solutions and develop proactive ideas to address challenges and risks.

He stressed the importance of co
ordination in the field of governance and setting the appropriate legislative framework to regulate the work of these technologies.

He also highlighted his country’s experience in the field of digital transformation through working to develop the digital infrastructure that is, he said, the backbone of government work, while ensuring flexibility in government performance.
