LILONGWE: Malawi’s President, Lazarus Chakwera, has declared 21 days of mourning for the death of the country’s vice president and nine other officials in a plane crash.
Adnkronos news agency quoted Chakwera as saying on Wednesday that the nation will observe a 21-day mourning until Monday, 1st July, in honour of the late Saulos Klaus Chilima, Vice President of the Republic of Malawi, and the nine officials who were with him and died in the crash near Chikangawa on Monday.
