Majority of Palestinians in Israeli prisons suffer from starvation, commission reports

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs confirmed on Tuesday that the majority of Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli occupation camps are suffering from starvation.

The majority of prisoners have lost weight dramatically over the past ten months, with each prisoner losing about 20 kilograms of his weight due to the unfair starvation policy, the results of which appear every day on the bodies of the freed prisoners, according to the commission.

It documented in a report on X the testimonies of prisoners who suffer from starvation and thirst, which led to the deterioration of their health condition inside the occupation detention centers, in addition to being severely beaten during their arrest, which led to the injury of many of them with various injuries and fractures in their limbs and faces due to brutal torture against them.

The commission called on the international community and human rights organizations to intervene urgently to save the lives of prisoners who are subje
cted to grave violations inside Israeli prisons and to guarantee their rights to health care and humane treatment in accordance with international laws.
