Libyan Ambassador to Sudan chairs the Libyan delegation participating in the meeting of mediators planning peace in Sudan.

Tripoli: Libyan Ambassador to Sudan, Fawzi Boumeriz, chaired the Libyan delegation participating in the activities of the conclusion of the meeting of mediators planning peace in Sudan, which was hosted by Djibouti on Friday.

The Libyan Embassy in Sudan said that the countries that met issued a statement where it stressed the international solidarity with Sudan and deep concern over the catastrophic conditions due to the armed conflict, as well as adherence to the national unity, sovereignty, and independence of Sudan.

The countries also expressed their great concern over the displacement of Sudanese citizens and the difficult conditions they are suffering from, calling for the need to work to immediately stop the fighting between the conflicting parties and resort to comprehensive political dialogue.

The mediators’ meetings were held over two days, headed by Ramtane Lamamra, the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General of the UN, with the participation of more than 20 countries, in addition to the African
Union, the League of Arab States, the EU, the IGAD organization, Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, and a number of international observers.
