HANOI: Five people have died as a result of heavy rains and landslides in northern Vietnam, the Vietnam Disaster and Dyke Management Authority said.
According to the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), the torrential rains triggered landslides and floods, causing significant material losses.
Many people were evacuated, and dozens of hectares of rice fields and several roads were damaged.
