Qatarneh added that the ministry is working to enhance cooperation between Jordan and various countries in the world at the military and security levels, with regard to counter-terrorism issues, through communication with Arab and foreign diplomatic missions in Amman, as well as Jordanian diplomatic missions abroad.

For his part, the commander of the King Abdullah II Royal Special Forces Group, Colonel Hisham Huneiti, noted that the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) Special Forces apply short-term military solutions (hard power) and proactive deterrence by empowering conventional forces and law enforcement agencies to support the campaign against drug networks (participating in operations that lead to the arrest of several high-risk wanted individuals) and undermining their financial resources.

On the US side, Brigadier General Michael Brooks, Commander of the International Coalition Special Operations Forces in Syria and Iraq, emphasized the importance of international efforts and joint cooperation in confronting
this threat in a way that allows for information exchange, praising Jordan’s experience in combating terrorism.

Arab Potash Company CEO, Maan Nsour concluded: “Terrorism is one of the greatest challenges facing the world, as it is the most prominent threat to national stability and civilian safety. The study and understanding of terrorism is of great importance for politicians, security agencies, and researchers, as it is an ongoing threat that requires a comprehensive response that includes preventive measures, international cooperation, and the development of more effective strategies to address it simultaneously.”

Understanding the motives and causes of the spread of terrorism helps in building better policies and directing efforts towards preventing extremism, promoting security and peace in all societies, and prioritizing political stability, justice, and economic growth to prevent the destructive effects of terrorism.

The seminar aimed to coordinate and unify efforts in combating terrorism and benefi
t from international expertise in this field, as well as publicize Jordan’s efforts in combating terrorism and limiting its repercussions.

At the end of the seminar, which was attended by a number of ambassadors and military attachés accredited to the Kingdom, and JAF senior officers and security services, a discussion was held during which the speakers answered questions and inquiries from the audience.
