Jordan executes three airdrops on northern GazaThe Council of State and the House of Representatives sign minutes of agreement in Tunisia

Amman: The Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army announced on Friday, in alignment with Royal directives, that three Royal Air Force aircraft successfully carried out three airdrops of food supplies on northern Gaza Strip.

This move is a part of Jordan’s continuous efforts to provide food, medical, and relief aid to Gaza Strip residents in an effort to lessen the effects of the conflict and make up for the acute shortage of supplies brought on by the Israeli military’s ongoing, now in its 147th day, assault on the Strip.

The Armed Forces affirm that they are still sending relief by air bridge to provide medical and humanitarian aid, whether via airdrops into the Gaza Strip or via aid planes flying from Marka Airport to El-Arish International Airport.

Members of the Council of State and Parliament meeting in Tunisia signed a minutes of agreement calling for renewed commitment to the electoral laws implemented through the 6+6 Committee and the formation of a new national government that works to achieve the electoral entitlement.

The agreement stressed the need to respect Libyan ownership of the political process and choose the head of the new government through a transparent and fair mechanism, by consensus between the two councils and under the auspices of the UN mission.

The agreement also called on the National Elections Commission to begin implementing electoral laws and to demand that it announce the date of holding the elections.

The agreement included emphasizing the seriousness of what was stated in the Central Bank’s report on the extent of inflation in spending, especially support, expenses, and funding from unknown sources, and the necessity of forming an investigation committee into this and setting binding controls and legislation for the
next government to ensure the fight against centralization, support of local units, and the allocations reach directly to the municipalities.
