Israeli strike of Gaza school kills 14

Fourteen Palestinians were killed and others were injured when Israeli occupation forces bombed the UNRWA Al Jaouni School in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Among those killed in Al Jaouni School were UNRWA staff, said the government media office in Gaza in a statement. The Israeli occupation committed a “brutal massacre” by bombing the school, which houses more than 5,000 displaced persons.

The massacre is Israel’s 47th against Palestinians in the Nuseirat refugee camp where over 250,000 Palestinians are sheltered, according to the statement.

Since the beginning of the war on October 7, Israeli occupation forces have bombed more than 18 schools and displacement and shelter centres inside the Nuseirat refugee camp.

The statement notes that the Nuseirat camp massacre comes amid a difficult health situation in the central region where over 1 million people live, adding that the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital and Al-Awda Hospital are unable to provide good health and medical services due to the severe
overcrowding.

The government office called for international condemnation of the ongoing “crimes” against the displaced and against civilians.
