Jerusalem – Together – Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevy said on Sunday evening that the war in Gaza continues and that we are far from stopping it.
The Chief of Staff, speaking about the issue of the abductees: The return of the abductees represents an urgent and important goal. We are working to return all the kidnapped people as quickly as possible. The IDF will know how to deal with a price, even if it is difficult to bear, and it will know how to resume fighting with strength
He said, “We are witnessing a war in multiple arenas. There is no need for concern, but there is no need for complacency either. We must be aware of the situation, and always ready. The IDF forces are ready and operating in all arenas – whether in the south, in the north, in the West Bank, or in farther arenas.”
He said, “The army is capable of dealing with Iran as well – offensively and defensively. We have prepared ourselves for this as we have good defensive systems and the ability to act forcefully against Iran in places ne
ar and far. We work in cooperation with the United States and other strategic partners in the region.”
He continued: Since the outbreak of the war, Iran has been seeking to evade direct participation in it, but we are aware of its use, direction, financing, and transfer of knowledge to all its followers in the region – starting with Hezbollah, passing through the West Bank, and ending with Yemen. Iran threatens not only Israel, but all Western and Arab countries, as Iran constitutes a global problem and was and still is the biggest problem ever.’
He said, “The war in Gaza continues, while Hamas officials are still hiding. We will reach them sooner or later. We are moving forward and will continue to kill more terrorists and destroy more terrorist infrastructure. We will not keep Hamas brigades standing – in any part of the Strip.” We have plans and we will act as soon as we make the decision,’ he said.
He continued: Work continues in various ways. We will continue intelligence and operational efforts to re
turn all the abductees as quickly as possible. ”
