International Federation For Falconry Sports and Racing approves 9 new members

DUBAI: The International Federation For Falconry Sports and Racing’s (IFFSR) Board of Directors, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, has announced the addition of nine new entities to its membership.

The latest expansion brings the total number of federations and entities within the IFFSR to 25, representing diverse regions across the globe. These new members have completed the requisite procedures for obtaining the membership.

The announcement was made during a recent meeting of the IFFSR’s Board of Directors, presided over by Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Vice President of IFFSR. The meeting, conducted via video conference, witnessed unanimous approval of membership applications from the newly admitted entities.

The IFFSR’s new list of members includes nine members, namely: Kuwait Association for Falconry and Traditional Folk Games; Morocco’s Al-Sharafa Qawasem Association of Falconry and Al-Hassaniya Qawasemia Falconry Association
; Pakistan’s Center for the Conservation and Rehabilitation of Birds of Prey; Lebanese Federation for Heritage and Traditional Sports; Mauritanian Federation For traditional Sports and Games; Yemeni Association for Falconry Sports and Racing; Czech Association for Falconry Racing; Mongolian National Association for Falconry Sports and Racing.

Sheikh Zayed welcomed the new members, emphasising their crucial roles in advancing the sport of falconry on national and international stages. He underscored the sport’s growth and elevation to global standards, noting increased interest in organising and participating in falconry sports and racing events worldwide, governed by IFFSR regulations.

Rashid bin Markhan, IFFSR’s Secretary-General, highlighted the significance of expanding the federation’s membership, fostering collaboration and participation in the sports field. He emphasised that a larger membership base fosters a diversity of perspectives and ideas, united in the common goal of advancing falconry to the
highest international standards.
