Intaj voices support for Gov’t digital transformation efforts

The Information and Communications Technology Association of Jordan (Intaj) affirmed its commitment to support the government’s efforts in activating partnerships between the public and private sectors to achieve common goals in the digital transformation field.

In a statement on Wednesday, Intaj applauded the royal directives contained in the royal letter of designation to Prime Minister, Jaafar Hassan, to form the new government, which emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the ICT sector as a key pillar to enhance Jordan’s position as a regional hub in this vital field.

“His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasized the need to support Jordanian entrepreneurs and companies that have established a distinguished presence at the regional level, which is an important reference to the importance of building a legislative and regulatory environment that enables the sector to continue to grow and contribute to providing new jobs for young people,” Intaj said.

It noted that His Majesty pointed to the need
to accelerate the pace of digital transformation in government institutions, to improve services provided to citizens and investors, enhance the efficiency of government work and raise the level of transparency.

Intaj said that the Jordanian technology sector has the ingredients that qualify it to play a pivotal role in realizing this vision, especially with the focus on developing the digital skills of youth and supporting entrepreneurship in technology, noting that it will work hand in hand with the government to achieve the goals of digital transformation, promote innovation, and employ modern technologies to serve the national economy.
