Hamdok to MENA: We count on Egypt to help in settling Sudanese crisis

Former Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, head of the Coordination of Civilian Democratic Forces (Taqaddum), said Sudan and the Sudanese people largely count on Egypt to help in settling the Sudanese crisis.

He highlighted Egypt’s potential as well as its keenness on addressing Sudanese issues.

He made the remarks in statements to MENA on the fringe of a conference under the theme of “together to halt the war in Sudan” which was hosted by Cairo and attended by Egyptian Emigration and Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti, various Sudanese political powers and regional and international partners concerned.

Hamdok lauded holding the first meeting of its kind in Egypt as marking a watershed stage to build upon for solutions of the current crisis.

Hamdok stressed that Cairo conference is held at a crucial time for Sudan which is facing an existential crisis.

The conference addresses three main issues; halting the war, the Sudanese humanitarian crisis as well as the political process, its agenda and basic pri
nciples.
