Foreign Minister: Egypt supports Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity


Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, received Hussein Awad, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, in a discussion session held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tahrir Palace.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, stated that the Minister of Foreign Affairs reviewed the most prominent features of Egypt’s participation in the Geneva meetings and its evaluation of its work and the efforts made to resolve the crisis in Sudan.

He stressed Egypt’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the two sides were keen to review the items related to Sudan during the Arab League meeting tomorrow, September 10.

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that Dr. Abdel Aati was keen to listen to his Sudanese counterpart’s assessment of the various international and regional efforts aimed at reaching a solution to the crisis.

The two
parties discussed a number of topics related to bilateral relations, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed Egypt’s keenness to continue facilitating the conditions of Sudanese citizens residing in Egypt until the end of the crisis and their ability to return safely to their country, which was appreciated and thanked by his Sudanese counterpart.
