Board chairman of the Damietta Port Authority (DPA) Ahmed Hawash paid a work visit to the Italian Port of Trieste.
This comes to continue efforts of Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir during TransMEA conference and exhibition in 2023 which resulted in inking a memorandum of understanding with Italy’s Ambassador in Cairo Michele Quaroni on international transport of goods using land vehicles trailers using RoRo between the Egyptian port of Damietta and the Italian Port of Trieste.
Meanwhile, Hawash asserted the importance of the visit to put final executive mechanisms to start operating navigation lines between Egypt and Italy which will be a big opportunity for Egyptian exporters to promote the Egyptian products in the European market, especially in the German, Dutch and British markets.
