Dozens of Bani Tamim tribe members demonstrated in Diyala province in protest against the nomination of a person from outside the province for the position of governor.
An informed source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that dozens of Bani Tamim tribe members gathered in front of the Diyala Provincial Council amid tight security measures in protest against the nomination of / Adnan Al-Jaber Al-Shammari / for the position of Diyala governor.
He added that the demonstrators demanded that some political blocs withdraw their candidate and nominate an alternative person for the position of Diyala governor, provided that he is from Bani Tamim tribe according to the electoral entitlements.
