DGCA, Meteo France sign meteorological system development contract

Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday signed a KD 1.8 million (approx. USD 41.8 billion) contract with Meteo France for project developing Kuwait International Airport meteorological system.

DGCA’s Deputy Director Saad Al-Otaibi told KUNA that the venture part of a bigger plan of 11 projects aiming to develop aviation infrastructure.

The two-part contract, explained Al-Otaibi, includes a detection and warning system for dusty weather and sandstorms, and a second generation system for data analysis.

The contract is valid for some 930 days, followed by a four-year maintenance period.
