The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army for Operations chaired a security conference on security coordination on the Iraqi-Turkish border strip.
A statement by the Ministry of Defense stated that, in implementation of the directives of the Army Chief of Staff, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations chaired, on Wednesday, a security conference on security coordination on the Iraqi-Turkish border strip, in the presence of the Commander of the Border Guard Forces and a number of concerned officers and directors of security services.
According to the statement, the meeting dealt with the overall security situation, the widding of the sectors, the opening of new points, the installation of modern radars on the borders, in addition to coordination with the Turkish side to reduce security breaches and the maintenance of borders to prevent the infiltration of terrorist gangs.
