Chairman of the Integrity Commission to NINA: A joint government team will present results to monitor stolen funds from tax trusts

The Federal Integrity Commission revealed the latest developments in the financial amounts in the tax deposit theft file “the theft of the century”.

The head of the commission, Judge Haider Hanoun, stated in a statement to the Iraqi National News Agency / NINA / “A joint team was formed from the Federal Integrity Commission and the Financial Supervision Bureau to audit and monitor the amounts of money stolen from the tax deposit file.”

He explained that “this team will provide clear, accurate and solid results for the file of stolen funds from tax deposits “the theft of the century”.

He added that “the Federal Financial Supervision Bureau has prepared a technical report that includes a comprehensive monitoring of financial violations, which is the most accurate and clear and will be adopted to follow up on the implementation of the procedures of the Tax Authority regarding these violations and breaches and the amounts added to the file of the theft of tax deposits”, indicating that “the current amount is 5
9 billion Iraqi dinars in addition to the previous stolen amount, and we will audit this amount in full and also investigate the existence of other additional amounts or not”, considering that “the latest report of the Financial Supervision Bureau gave a clear and comprehensive vision of the amount stolen in the tax deposits file”.

Parliamentary circles circulated that the judiciary decided today, Wednesday, to postpone the trial of the main accused in the theft of the century “Nour Zuhair” until August 27 due to his failure to attend the court.
