The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, “Abdullah Batili” expressed his deep concern about the ongoing security developments in the capital, Tripoli, reminding all parties of the need to give the highest priority to protecting civilians.
And Batili urged, in a post he posted on his Twitter account today, Tuesday; all parties to stop the escalation and respect the Libyan people’s desire and aspiration for peace and stability.
The UN envoy said: The current events remind us of the need to reach a broad political agreement that paves the way for elections and for the unification of state institutions.
